La Familya is a Reggae Rock group that takes you on a surprising journey through sunny and magic lands. To see La Familya live at work is a must; they radiate a wonderful ‘joie de vivre’ leaving none untouched. The eight musicians go to battle on stage armed with brass, guitar, drums, piano, scratch and strong engaging texts. La Familya crosses borders from reggae to rock to hiphop, dub, jungle, ragga and afrobeat. Wherever La Familya is, danceable riddims are never far away.
The group was formed in early 2009 with its members residing in Northern France and Belgium. La Familya has a wide range of influences: Groundation, Bob Marley, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Mano Negra, Babylon Circus, Ghost and The Guay, Percubaba, Rage Against the Machine and FFF to name a few.
With over 100 concerts to its credit La Familya has proven some truly impressive live abilities. The band has shared the stage with artists such as Mahala Rai Banda, Enhancer, Cocorosie, La Troba Kung-Fú, The Chieftains, Orchestre National de Barbés, The Skatalites, Zep and Orchestre International du Vetex.
